Devotional Guide for Week of July 24th, #6 The Skeptic

1.     Read Luke 19:11-27.  What makes this parable so dissonant?

 2.     Read this quote from Clarence Thompson from his website “enneagramcentral.com”:  “The fundamental premise of the Enneagram is that each of us have one dominant (not exclusive) energy that drives us in everything we do. This dominant energy is our greatest gift so we use it too much and it becomes our chief fault - or sin. This energy, like a prevailing wind that bends a tree permanently, sculpts our inner terrain and shapes our entire life.”

Have you found your enneagram style/“dominate energy”? What is it exactly? In your own words, what is your greatest gift but also your biggest problem in life at the same time?

 3.     Loyalists, aka The Skeptic, are charming, witty, and diplomatic people that are the glue for churches, businesses, and families. Sixes have a “prepare for the worst, hope for the best” mentality and their greatest fear is to be unprepared, to lose their personal support and stability. In light of this fear, Sixes often crave safe environments and can be attracted to institutions that provide this support and stability, such as the military, government work, or religion.

What is your greatest fear?
